Made Perfect: The Eternal Promise of Christ

A radiant background with beams of light emerging from a cross, featuring the text 'Made Perfect' in bold letters.

“Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood—for the people received the law under this priesthood—what further need would there have been to speak of another priest arising according to the order of Melchizedek rather than one according to the order of Aaron?”

-Hebrews 7:11

I want you, dear reader, to say this out loud or as loud as you can in your heart, “Through Jesus, I am made perfect!” Say it again and again until it sinks in.

That’s a bold statement. To say we are perfect. What does perfect even mean?

  • Completed
  • Whole
  • Not defective
  • Without flaw, fault, or blemish
  • Pure
  • To leave nothing wanting

“For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.”

-Hebrews 10:14

The he in this verse is Jesus. Sanctified are people who are believers, set apart for God’s purposes.

Jesus has made us perfect; we are fully whole and complete before God. FOR ALL TIME. Eternity!

What does that mean? Eternity? For all time? Well, a whole heck of a lot! It means that no matter our past, no matter how dark it got or gets in the present…by coming to Jesus again and again, we are washed clean. We are made brand new, a NEW creation.

Jesus simply says, Come to me and be washed in His living water. God now sees us through the blood covering of His one and only Son, who sacrificed Himself as an unblemished offering. For each of us. FOR ALL TIME! “All time”, that means this gift never gets revoked as long as we come to Him. He will refine us as He sees fit. He will put a new heart in us, a new path, a new spirit. He will convict where it is needed, but that doesn’t take from the fact that you are made clean in every way through our Lord and Savior.

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

-Romans 8:38-39

Let these verses sink in for a moment.

Read them again.

We just got done talking about how, because of what Jesus did for us, we can stand before God complete. Pure. Unblemished. Without fault. We also now know that Jesus’ covering is for all time for all believers. Right? And now, Romans is hammering all this home. It goes even further to give examples of things that can’t affect God’s love for us. Romans even says nothing is happening currently or even in the future can separate us! NOTHING in all creation!

So, no matter what the world may say, what people might bash you with, or what your brains may even try to tell you…YOU ARE PERFECT!

You are WHOLE!

You are PURE!

You are NOT broken!

You are NOT ugly!

You are NOT unlovable!

You are NOT trash!

You are NOT worthless!

You are NOT your past!

You are NOT your hurts!

You are NOT your scars!

You ARE made in the image of God.

You ARE in the family of Jesus.

You are PERFECTION!

Say it one more time to yourself, “Through Jesus, I am made perfect!”

Amen!
